The Samira 13 Collection was launched in 2008 by Los Angeles designer / sculptor Samira Sizdahkhani. Influenced in part by her Persian heritage, Samira takes inspiration from the primitive, monastic aesthetics of her nomadic ancestors. Using unorthodox materials in unique combinations, she blends distressed metals, tattered silks and leathers with South Sea pearls and raw gemstones to create her uniquely exquisite designs.
?Born into a fashion family, Samira began making jewelry at age 12 in the workshop of her mother’s renowned D.C. designer boutique, Tabandeh. After university, and during a brief stint as a fashion stylist in LA, Samira’s love affair with South Sea pearls was ignited. She became intrigued with the mythical qualities attributed to black pearls by many ancient cultures, and began incorporating them in her designs.
