This handsome bowl is made in Yamanaka Prefecture, where lacquering and woodworking have been practiced by craftsmen for centuries. The Tsumugi bowls are made from Japanese Zelkova wood, which is prized in Japan for building traditional Tansu furniture and Taiko drums. Lacquered in a way that showcases the natural wood grain, the Tsumugi bowl is an artful way to enjoy soups and rice dishes. Perfectly symmetrical and smooth to the touch, this stunning piece is a testament to the perfection that can be achieved by a pair human hands.
