On a bright early Autumn day, we recently visited the studio of Chicago Designer Sarah McGuire. Situated on the Ravenswood industrial corridor, Sarah’s studio is full of afternoon light, inspiring a strong creative spirit.
Originally from New England, Sarah cites found objects on the beaches of Cape Cod as an early influence of her design aesthetic. Within the studio we found objects like rare 40K black tourmaline, pear shaped rustic diamonds and raw sheets of aquamarine that currently inspire the designer. Sarah describes her design process as something fluid – perhaps it’s a set of stones or a drawing she returns to at her bench. The organic shapes produced in the studio are like the women who wear them, feminine, strong and energetic.
All Sarah Mcguire jewelry is made from recycled precious metals and ethically sourced stones. Nearly all diamonds are certified by the Kimberly Process.
